"Rider's House" in Kameyama Yasuhiro Matsushima Mitsuo Matsushima 51) has been building log cabin at Chiba prefecture Kimitsu city Kameyama since last spring. His friends sometimes help him, too. He wants to use the log cabin as "Rider's house". (Rider's house is a tourist home especially for riders of motorcycle.) Mr.Matsushima really likes to go on a journey by motorcycle. When he went to Hokkaido, he stayed at "Rider's House" for the first time. Then he talked with many riders who came from Kyusyu, Shikoku, or Kansai. He enjoyed that night and wanted to build "Rider's House" ![]() But He was a average office worker and he has wife and two sons. Needless to say, he didn't have an estate for "Rider's House". So he asked some landowners and he was able to lease mountain in Kameyama for ten years. At first he wanted to retire from his company to build the "Rider's House". He said that he didn't like his colleagues. Before he started to build it, he sometimes said to his wife that he wanted to retire. When his family heard that he wanted retire to build a low cabin, naturally they were surprised and objected, because they worried about income. His wife and two sons thought that no one would come to "Rider's House" and that they would not able to get enough money to live. Finally he was reluctant to obey his family. He determined to build the log cabin on holiday and his family agreed with him. ![]() Last December an event happened to him. He was transferred to Makuhari. Though he just become to commute for 40 minutes longer than before, this happening changed him. He enjoyed working and said colleagues were nice guys. When his family heard this, they were surprised and felt easy because they didn't need to worry about if he would retire. These days he enjoys working and building the log cabin. Every Saturday he gets up at 5:00 am and starts build it and comes home 6:00 pm on Sunday. Every Sunday his friends who become acquainted with him on touring come to the "Rider's House" to help him. And every three weeks eldest son helps him, too. But his youngest son cannot help him because he is busy to make reports. He is sorry not to help him. ![]() The name of "Rider's House" is "PAPA-SUN-CHI" because he is called "PAPASAN" by riders. At first foreign riders called this "PAPAS-UNCHI", so he made a space between A and S. Mr. Matsushima says "I hope that people who really like motorcycle and touring come here. I want to talk with them in nature." The log cabin will complete by next year. When it complete, it will be a new tourist spot in Chiba. I nearly forgot saying one important thing. Mr. Matsushima is my great father. |
